Created in collaboration with Italy-based artist Lunopark, each plate is hand-painted as an original artwork inspired by the creatures and characters of Slavic folktales. Commissioned exclusively for Zmeika, the collection brings together six timeless stories — where dragons breathe fire, enchanted cats whisper prophecies, forest huts walk on chicken legs, frogs become princesses, golden birds blaze across the sky, and humble bread rolls outrun the world.
Characters:
1. Zmei: Inspired by Zmei Gorynych, the mighty dragon of Slavic folklore — a guardian of ancient magic, feared for its immense power and fire-breathing might.
2. Kot: Inspired by Kot Bayun, the enchanted cat whose hypnotic tales could lull wanderers to sleep or reveal hidden wisdom to those who dared to listen.
3. Izba: Inspired by the legendary walking hut of Baba Yaga, standing on chicken legs at the edge of the forest, where the ordinary world gives way to magic.
4. Tsarevna: Inspired by the Frog Princess, a timeless Slavic tale of transformation, hidden strength, and beauty concealed beneath the unexpected.
5. Kolobok: Inspired by Kolobok, the clever runaway bread roll whose wit and song carry him through the forest in one of Slavic folklore’s most beloved tales.
6. Zhara: Inspired by Zhar-Ptitsa, the Firebird of Slavic folklore, whose blazing feathers bring both wonder and the promise of extraordinary journeys.
